Kenwood RFU-6100 Wireless Speakers

Kenwood has an interesting wireless speaker system that can be used in conjunction with your existing surround sound speakers. It is the Kenwood RFU-6100 Wireless speakers module.
It is made to deliver 100W RMS into the two wireless audio channels splitting into 50W each channel.
This is a very attractive unit that is sold at a fair price.
The Kenwood RFU-6100 wireless speaker add on system has got an operating range of up to 100 feet 30 meters for you euro folks and comes with the AC power supplies to power on the transmitter and the receiver units, and also comes with the necessary speaker wire to connect the surround speakers to the receiver unit.
One of the most interesting features of the RFU-6100 wireless speaker unit is the use of both a 4 user-selectable RF transmission channels within the 900MHz band and a very important active noise reduction circuit system to help reduce possible radio frequency interference from other RF sources that is your home cordless telephone, internet wireless hub sending out your computers internet connection.
Although this Kenwood wireless speaker add on system is mainly being marketed as a solution for wireless surround sound like getting those rear speakers going in your home theater system, it can easily be used to extend some high quality stereo sound in another room or location in the house. The Kenwood RFU-6100 has been a primary recommendation to those wanting to add speakers to your home theater wireless system. It is sold with a relatively affordable price tag, and it shows as one of the best rear wireless speaker solutions available today for home theater use.
RadioShack Wireless Rear Channel Amplifier

This unit is being sold directly from RadioShack online
The wireless rear channel amplifier offered by RadioShack is almost the same as the Kenwood unit in performance, both offering digital transmission bands. It has just a few minor differences to note.
The RadioShack unit is rated at 25W RMS per channel totaling 50 watts for the system (when driving a 4 ohm load) compared to the 50W RMS per channel, totaling 100 watts for the Kenwood system.
*
It is offering a smaller operating transmission range of about 30 feet (10m) – this is almost a 1/3 of the range provided by the Kenwood wireless add on system.
This Radio shack unit sends its signals at the 5.8GHz band instead of the 2.4GHz band.
The important fact is that this unit operates at the 5.8GHz band which offers an advantage over many other units operating in the 900Mhz or 2.4GHZ band. A lot of phones in your home, like cordless, operate on the 2.4 GHZ band and the more you have on that band the harder it will be to avoid these transmission glitches. You should make a note of what you are using in your home and then buy a system on another frequency range. This is very important information. This radio shack unit does not come with user selectable channels to help minimize this RF interference – as is a feature with the Kenwood model – yet this 5.8GHz range makes the RadioShack unit less likely to suffer from RF interference generated in the house by your microwave oven and other household appliances like a hair dryer for instance.
The RadioShack wireless speaker add on amplifier is one of the best priced rear wireless speakers solutions currently available on our market for adding surround sound to your home theater system. With the units limited range, it is not recommended for use in a multi-room audio setup. If you are looking for an inexpensive rear wireless speakers solution for your home surround sound system and the 25 Watts per channel is enough power for you, then this is a great wireless add on system for you.
